How To Be In The Right Place At The Right Time

We’ve all heard the phrase, “being in the right place at the right time.” But what does that actually feel like? And more importantly—how do we know if we’re not there?

Signs from the universe
Mind - body - spirit alignment

Let’s explore what this looks like, the signs to pay attention to, and how you can shift back into resonance when things feel “off.”

How It Feels to Be in the Right Place At The Right Time

In the Body: You feel lighter. Your nervous system is calm, your breath flows more easily, and there’s a quiet sense of ease—even if challenges arise. For example, walking into a new home, workspace, or even a circle of people, and instantly feeling your shoulders drop (in relaxation)—that’s your body recognizing safety and alignment.

In the Mind: Your thoughts aren’t at war with one another. Decisions feel clearer. You spend less time second-guessing and more time in creative problem-solving or simple presence.

In the Heart: Your heart feels open. There’s a quiet “yes” inside you, even if your mind doesn’t have all the answers yet. Joy, gratitude, and curiosity come more naturally.

Universal Signs You’re in the Right Place

Your external reality is a reflection of your inner world. When there's a turmoil with in, chaos will manifest on the out. The same is when you’re aligned, the world around you will reflect it back to you.

Here are some signs that you are aligned in your life:

  • Inner Peace – Even when life isn’t perfect, there’s a steady calm within.

  • Synchronicities – The right people, opportunities, or messages show up without forcing.

  • Flow – Time feels expansive, and tasks don’t feel heavy.

  • Resonance – Your intuition whispers “this feels good, this feels right.”

  • Energy Boost – Instead of depletion, you feel more alive.

  • Authenticity – You can be fully yourself—no masks.

  • Expansion – There’s a sense of growth and possibility.

  • Supportive Environment – The space and people nourish you, not drain you.

  • Easeful Decisions – Choices feel clearer, without constant overthinking.

  • Joy in Small Things – Gratitude flows naturally.

Signs You’re Not in the Right Place

Just as the body relaxes in alignment, it also speaks up when things are wrong:

  • Chronic exhaustion, no matter how much you rest.

  • Feeling on edge, walking on eggshells, or shrinking yourself.

  • Constant resistance—everything feels like pushing a boulder uphill.

  • Repetitive conflicts or patterns that leave you drained.

  • A quiet but persistent inner “no” that you try to silence.

Ignoring these signs can have real consequences.

Many of us stay in jobs, relationships, or environments that don’t serve us because of fear, obligation, or the belief that “this is just how life is.” Over time, this can lead to burnout, health issues, resentment, and disconnection from who we really are.

6 Ways to Shift Into the Right Place (Inside and Out)

  1. Listen to Your Body First – Notice where you feel tight, heavy, or drained versus light and expansive. Your body doesn’t lie.

  2. Practice Stillness – Quiet the noise through meditation, journaling, or simply unplugging. Clarity rises in the silence.

  3. Follow What Brings Energy – Pay attention to the activities or people that light you up versus those that drain you.

  4. Say No Without Guilt – Boundaries aren’t rejection; they’re protection of your alignment.

  5. Stay Open to Synchronicities – Be curious when opportunities, conversations, or “coincidences” show up. They’re often guidance.

  6. Check Your Environment – Sometimes it’s not you—it’s the space or people around you. Ask, “Does this space help me grow or keep me small?”

A Real-Life Example

A few years ago, I was working at a corporate desk job that, on the surface, was amazing- I enjoyed the dynamic work, loved the people I was working with, the pay and benefits were great and I felt a sense of financial security- but deep inside I was unhappy.

I had a longing to start my own coaching practice and couldn't pull it together while I was working in this high demanding position. I was scared to leave, and didn't know how to go about changing my life.

Eventually, the universe did it for me - I had an accident.

The healing process took a few months, during which I had time to go inward in deep retrospective and understand the mis-alignment I was living in, and the true path my soul was craving. Upon returning to the office after a couple of months of absence, it was very clear to me that I had to leave.

First, I gathered the courage to admit it to myself.

Once I made the choice, the universe provided solutions almost effortlessly. Within 3 months of my decision, I was on a whole new life path, living my true passion, feeling in alignment and watching how my reality is reorganizing itself through synchronicities, supportive opportunities and resonance. I felt deep joy and a strong sense of trust that things will workout for my highest good.

It might sound absurd, but looking back, I give thanks to the course of events that led me to have that accident. Although the pain I suffered, I've also experienced deep healing and expansion of my heart. I absolutely LOVE my new life and I'm grateful for being courageous enough to listen to my inner calling and follow my heart.

The Moral of The Story (Of our Lives)

Being “in the right place” isn’t about perfection. It’s about alignment—body, mind, and heart moving in the same direction.

The more we practice awareness and learn to trust the signs, the easier it becomes to shift into resonance and let life flow with more ease.

The universe is always speaking to us. The question is: are we listening?
